Try and Fail, but don't Fail to Try

Set goals and work for them...never be afraid of failure.

On of my many goals for 2015 is learning how to do a back hand spring, but unp until recently, all I could do was a back bend and then an awkward rock and kick over...it was ugly and not even remotely graceful.

When I was 6 years old (maybe?) I took gymnastics, and I was probably the worst at it. I remember watching the video as a grown-up kid thinking how uncoordinated I looked and how my Mum must have been out of her mind to waste the money on me. (Though, to this day, I can still do a full split and I've always been able to do that backbend.)

The other day, I was FINALLY able to do a back walkover, it wasn't pretty, but I taught it to myself and I didn't fall on my head! Woop Woop!

Speaking of goals....I'm in the process of achieving ANOTHER goal! A bigger one, and one less likely to cause brain damage if I were to fail (which I won't!) I have been asked to give a Flexible Dieting info-session/seminar at Poughkeepsie CrossFit. Why is this extra exciting? I have only worked with clients and hosted nutrition seminars in my own gym! (well, a few from another local gym but I used to go there so it doesn't count) I will be talking in front of real, live strangers!

Check it out!!! I'm so pumped and so thankful for this opportunity! I have been working on my presentation and perfecting it.

My next blog post will be about how I found flexible dieting and why I decided to do it! I'll also talk about my goals and how its working for me.

Also, a lot of people think that because I track my macros, that I think its the best and ONLY diet that works....thats not true! I have talked to a lot of athletes and non-athletes recently and honestly this lifestyle (yeah, I said lifestyle...have you seen the BroScience video on IIFYM/flexible dieting? its good...check it out here) isn't for everyone. It's time consuming. So just an FYI, each client I coach on nutrition, I take they're goals as well as their life into consideration when suggesting a plan! The only way to succeed is to find something that works for you and NEVER let anyone tell you otherwise!
